The six musician that make up the Alma Latina are all coming from rich and diverse cultural and artistic backgrounds; this is why their music has this special mixed flavour and character that beautifully brings together the crazy party African and Cuban rhythms and the warmth of more mellow moods.
Michel Dratwa (Belgique)
A few years ago, Michel discovered his passion for music and, more precisely, for Latin music. He wanted to go ahead and put his wish into practice: to bring together good musicians and create Alma Latina.
Show after show, Michel became a generous artist that plays his timbales without any inhibitions.
Junior Gonzalez (Cuba)
Drawing on his experience with many bands, Junior carries you, with the help of his piano and his smooth voice, towards a warm music full of diverse cultural influences and yet definitely Latin.
He is also a songwriter.
Thomas Gonzalez (Cuba)
Cuban from head to toe, Thomas and his bass bring us all the harmony necessary for Latin American rhythms.
His experience with the Buena Vista Social Club makes him very much respected by the other members of the band.
Laurent Moens (Belgique)
After spending a lot of time in Cuba and Africa (particularly with the famous Djoliba National Ballet), this accomplished percussionist came back to Belgium with enough musical knowledge to allow him to adapt with originality to very diverse musical styles.
Marcello Terra (Uruguay)
Able to blend in with most musical worlds, during each performance, Marcello shows his huge talent as both a saxophone- and a flute-player, which he acquired as member of several bands. On the stage, his joy of playing is fulfilled in complicity with the audience and the dancers.
Nicolas Sanchez (Uruguay)
This young trumpet player is already fairly experienced. With Marcello, the talented Nicolas gives us a
bewitching latin-jazzy brass touch.
His technique enables him to develop an impressive tone. His musical complicity with the other
members of the band is obvious.
